HAMMOND, La. — In a commanding performance on Saturday night, Jakevion Buckley led Southeastern Louisiana to an impressive victory over East Texas A&M, finishing the game with 21 points.

Buckley also contributed significantly in other areas with eight rebounds, seven assists, and three steals, helping the Lions secure an 83-65 win. The team’s record improved to 18-10 overall and 12-5 within the Southland Conference. Jeremy Elyzee was instrumental as well, scoring 20 points while shooting 8 for 12 from the field and converting 3 out of 4 free throws. Brody Rowbury added his support, chipping in with 15 points, having an efficient shooting night with 4 of 5 from the floor and 6 of 8 from the free-throw line.

On the other side, East Texas A&M struggled, with their standout player TJ Thomas scoring 17 points and collecting two steals. Josh Taylor contributed with 13 points and seven rebounds, but his efforts could not change the tide for the team, which has now experienced a six-game losing streak. Scooter Williams Jr. also contributed to their score with 11 points.

Looking ahead, both teams will be back in action on Monday. Southeastern Louisiana will face Northwestern State at home, while East Texas A&M is set to travel to New Orleans for their matchup.
