Buies Creek, N.C. — In an intense matchup on Saturday, Christian May spearheaded Towson’s efforts with 21 points, guiding the Tigers to a 76-67 win against Campbell.
May exhibited impressive shooting skills, converting 7 of his 10 attempts from the field and hitting 5 of 7 from beyond the arc. He also contributed 2 points from the free-throw line for a solid all-around performance. With this victory, Towson improved to 19-10 overall and 14-2 in the Coastal Athletic Association. Teammate Tyler Tejada was equally effective, sinking all three of his 3-point shots to finish the game with 17 points, while Nendah Tarke supported the offense with 16 points on 6-for-12 shooting.
For the Fighting Camels, Nolan Dorsey led his team’s scoring with 16 points, alongside nine rebounds and four assists to help keep the contest competitive. Colby Duggan contributed 12 points, while Tasos Cook added nine points to the scoreboard.
The first half ended with both teams locked at 38-38, with May leading the Tigers in scoring with 14 points during that period. As the second half unfolded, Towson found its rhythm, launching an 11-2 run to surge ahead of Campbell after the score was tied at 42-42. This momentum shift allowed them to establish a lead of 53-44 with about 13 minutes left in the game. Tejada played a key role in the second half, contributing 11 points to help secure the Tigers’ victory.
Both teams are set for another challenge on Thursday, as Towson will face off against William & Mary while Campbell will take on UNC Wilmington.
