Hampton, Va. — In an impressive display of skill, George Beale scored 20 points to help Hampton secure an 83-70 victory against UNC Wilmington on Saturday.
Beale showcased his shooting abilities with a notable 8-for-13 performance from the field, which included hitting 4 out of 6 from three-point territory for the Pirates (15-13, 7-8 Coastal Athletic Association).
Additionally, Wayne Bristol Jr. matched Beale’s scoring output, also contributing 20 points, shooting 6 for 10 overall and an exceptional 6 for 8 from beyond the arc.
Noah Farrakhan played a significant role as well, finishing the game with 15 points by going 4 for 9 from the field, including 3 for 5 from deep, along with a solid 4 for 6 performance at the free-throw line.
On the other side of the court, UNC Wilmington (21-7, 11-4) saw their efforts led by Noah Ross, who was the team’s highest scorer with 15 points.
Khamari McGriff contributed with 11 points, while Greedy Williams rounded out the effort with nine points and seven rebounds.
The Pirates took control of the game early, establishing a lead with 17:13 left in the first half, and they maintained this advantage throughout the match.
At halftime, Hampton held a solid 43-26 lead, aided by Bristol’s nine points.
Although UNC Wilmington outperformed Hampton in the second half by a margin of four points, Beale’s strong finish with 14 points in the latter half ensured that the Pirates’ victory remained secure.
Looking ahead, both teams have games scheduled for Monday. Hampton will host Stony Brook, while UNC Wilmington is set to face William & Mary on the road.
