Atwell displayed impressive shooting skills, hitting 7 of his 12 attempts from the field, which included a solid 3 for 5 from three-point distance. His outstanding performance helped the Spartans improve their record to 19 wins and 10 losses, alongside a conference record of 12 wins and 4 losses in the Southern Conference. Moreover, Jalen Breath also made significant contributions, scoring 16 points on 5 of 6 shooting, while also pulling down 14 rebounds. Kenyon Giles added to the scoring with 15 points, shooting 5 of 15 overall and making 3 of his 7 attempts from beyond the arc.
On the opposing side, the Mercer Bears struggled to find their rhythm, with Tyler Johnson leading their scoring efforts. Johnson finished the game with 22 points and grabbed six rebounds.
