ALBANY, N.Y. — Siena claimed a decisive victory against Niagara with a score of 94-60 on Friday evening, driven by an impressive performance from Justice Shoats, who tallied 31 points.
In addition to his scoring, Shoats contributed seven assists as part of the Saints’ strong showing, improving their overall record to 13 wins and 14 losses, along with a conference standing of 8-8 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. Tajae Jones was another key player for Siena, putting up 16 points with an impressive shooting performance of 5-for-7 from the field and 4-for-5 from the charity stripe, while also grabbing seven rebounds. Gavin Doty added to the offensive effort with 12 points, shooting efficiently at 3-for-4 from the field and going a perfect 6-for-6 on free throws.
The Purple Eagles struggled to keep pace and were led by Jhaylon Martinez, who managed to score 10 points and secured six rebounds. Jaeden Marshall contributed with nine points, while Zion Russell rounded out the scoring with eight points.
Looking ahead, both teams will be back in action on Sunday. Siena will take on Canisius at home, and Niagara will be on the road against Marist.
