SANTA CLARA, Calif. — In a strong showing, Carlos Stewart contributed 16 points to help the Broncos secure a 76-61 win against Loyola Marymount on Thursday.
Stewart recorded his points by hitting 5 of his 12 attempts from the field, including 3 of 8 from beyond the arc, and he was perfect with 3 free throws. This victory improves Santa Clara’s record to 18-10 overall and 10-5 in the West Coast Conference.
Joining Stewart in the scoring effort, Camaron Tongue netted 14 points, showcasing accuracy with 6 of 9 shooting, along with 2 successful free throws. He also added a solid contribution on the boards with eight rebounds. Brenton Knapper rounded out the trio of double-digit scorers for Santa Clara, finishing with 12 points, shooting 5 of 7 from the field and converting 1 of 3 from the line.
