FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — In a thrilling encounter on Thursday night, Tyler Linhardt’s impressive performance with 25 points propelled Idaho to a narrow victory over Northern Arizona, with a final score of 83-78.
Linhardt demonstrated his scoring abilities, shooting 8 of 13 from the field, which included 2 for 5 from the three-point line, and a remarkable 7 of 8 from the charity stripe. His efforts significantly contributed to the Vandals’ record, bringing them to 12 wins and 15 losses overall, with a conference tally of 7 wins and 7 losses in the Big Sky Conference. Supporting Linhardt, Kristian Gonzalez added 14 points, shooting 5 of 9 with a couple of three-pointers. Kolton Mitchell also made a mark by scoring 14 points, finishing the night with 6 of 14 shooting that included 2 successful three-point attempts.
On the other side of the court, the Lumberjacks, now with a record of 15-13 and 6-9 in conference play, saw a remarkable display from Trenton McLaughlin, who dominated the scoring with an outstanding 35 points and seven three-pointers made. Furthermore, Ryan Abelman contributed significantly, tallying 12 points along with seven rebounds to support his team.
