    In a thrilling contest on Thursday evening, Bellarmine triumphed over Eastern Kentucky with a score of 80-74, thanks in large part to Billy Smith, who scored an impressive 23 points.
    Smith didn’t just contribute on offense; he also secured six rebounds for the Knights, who have a current record of 5-24 and stand at 2-14 in the Atlantic Sun Conference.
    Myles Watkins added to the Knights’ success by netting 19 points and grabbing five rebounds, while Tyler Doyle contributed 11 points, shooting 4 of 5 from the field and converting 3 of 5 free throws. Doyle’s game was rounded out with five rebounds and seven assists, making him a pivotal factor in the team’s performance.

    On the other side, Turner Buttry led the scoring for the Colonels, finishing with 22 points for Eastern Kentucky, who now have a record of 17-12 and 11-5 in conference play.
    Mayar Wol also had a good showing, contributing 15 points, while Jackson Holt added 12 points along with two steals. This outing marked the end of an impressive eight-game winning streak for Eastern Kentucky.
