DUBAI, United Arab Emirates — In a highly anticipated Group A match at the Champions Trophy on Thursday, Captain Najmul Hossain Shanto won the toss and chose to bat first against India.

With the Indian government restricting travel to Pakistan due to longstanding regional tensions, India will play all of its group and knockout matches in the UAE.

The Indian team has included three spinners and two pace bowlers in their lineup, with all-rounder Hardik Pandya also featured. Mohammed Shami is set to open the bowling alongside Harshit Rana, while left-arm pace bowler Arshdeep Singh has not made the final cut for this match.

In India’s batting order, Axar Patel is slated to come in at number five, with the formidable quartet of Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, and Shreyas Iyer positioned at the top of the lineup.

On the other hand, Bangladesh has selected three pace bowlers complemented by two spinners. The pace attack will be led by Mutafizur Rehman, Taskin Ahmed, and Tanzim Hasan Sakib.

In the tournament’s opening match held on Wednesday, New Zealand emerged victorious over the host nation Pakistan by a margin of 40 runs.

The lineups for the teams are as follows:

**Bangladesh:** Tanzid Hasan, Soumya Sarkar, Najmul Hossain Shanto (captain), Towhid Hridoy, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Jaker Ali, Rishad Hossain, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman.

**India:** Rohit Sharma (captain), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Lokesh Rahul, Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Ravindra Jadeja, Harshit Rana, Mohammed Shami, Kuldeep Yadav.
