TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — In a thrilling matchup on Wednesday night, the Evansville Purple Aces triumphed over the Indiana State Sycamores with a final score of 79-74. Gabriel Pozzato played a pivotal role in the victory, contributing 22 points to the scoreboard, while his teammate Tayshawn Comer added 21 points to the team’s total.

Pozzato showed versatility despite having a challenging night from the arc, shooting 7 of 16 overall, but only making 1 out of 9 three-point attempts. However, he excelled at the free-throw line, converting 7 of 8 attempts. Besides Pozzato’s performance, Comer contributed significantly with five rebounds and five assists to help secure the win. Joshua Hughes also had a strong showing, scoring 15 points by shooting 7 for 12 from the floor, which included 1 for 4 from three-point range. He also notched a double-double with 10 rebounds.

On the other side, Jaden Daughtry emerged as the leading scorer for the Sycamores, finishing with 23 points and six rebounds. Samage Teel was another key player for Indiana State, adding 21 points and delivering nine assists. Kmani Doughty also made his mark by contributing 10 points to the team’s efforts. Comer showcased his skills during the second half, scoring a team-high 13 points to help the Purple Aces maintain their advantage.

Looking ahead, both teams are set to take the court again on Saturday. Evansville will head to UIC for their next game, while Indiana State will face off against Belmont on the road.
