– In a compelling matchup on Tuesday evening, Eastern Kentucky emerged victorious against Lipscomb, securing a 66-57 win and marking their eighth consecutive triumph.
Devontae Blanton was a standout player for the Colonels, contributing significantly with 22 points along with 12 rebounds. His performance was vital in fortifying the team’s dominance during the game. Turner Buttry also played a pivotal role, scoring 12 points with a shooting record of 5 for 12, including two three-pointers. Buttry further supported the team with six rebounds. Montavious Myrick added to the scoring with 10 points, making 4 of 6 field goal attempts and converting 2 of 3 free throws.
On the other side, Jacob Ognacevic led the charge for the Bisons, accumulating 22 points and grabbing seven rebounds. Gyasi Powell contributed with a solid performance of 10 points, six rebounds, and two steals. This defeat snapped Lipscomb’s five-game winning streak, putting a halt to their momentum in the season.
Both Eastern Kentucky and Lipscomb are set to face new challenges on Thursday. The Colonels will go on the road to face Bellarmine, while the Bisons look to bounce back in a home game against North Alabama.
