STAMFORD, Conn. — NBC Sports has officially named Reggie Miller as their lead game analyst for the upcoming NBA season, as announced on Tuesday.

Miller, who has spent two decades as one of TNT Sports’ premier NBA analysts, recently hosted his 18th All-Star Game this past weekend.

Starting in October, he is set to commentate on several games each week throughout the regular season and the playoffs.

Interestingly, many significant highlights from Miller’s storied 18-year career as a player with the Indiana Pacers were aired on NBC when the network broadcast NBA games from 1990 to 2002.

One of those notable moments was during Game 1 of the 1995 Eastern Conference semifinals against the New York Knicks, where Miller famously scored eight points within just nine seconds to lead his team to victory at Madison Square Garden.

Miller expressed his enthusiasm about the new role, stating, “Some of my most memorable moments have been on NBC and I’m looking forward to creating more.”

Inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2012, Miller also earned a spot on the NBA 75th Anniversary team.

NBC Sports executive producer Sam Flood remarked on the significance of Miller’s return, noting the countless memorable moments he contributed during his playing days on the network.

Flood highlighted Miller’s excellence as a shooter and performance under pressure, as well as his entertaining style, which has translated well into his broadcasting career, where he offers viewers thoughtful analysis without holding back.

NBC’s coverage is expected to include up to 100 regular-season games, starting with Sunday nights after the NFL season ends, along with games on Tuesdays. Additionally, a Monday night doubleheader will be available exclusively on Peacock.

NBC will also feature the All-Star Game and All-Star Saturday Night.

During the playoffs, up to 28 games over the first two rounds will be available on NBC and/or Peacock, with a minimum of half of those games airing on NBC. One of the two conference finals will also be covered in six of the eleven years included in the broadcast deal.

Already announced for the NBC lineup are Mike Tirico as the lead play-by-play announcer and Jamal Crawford as a game analyst, complemented by Frank DiGraci as the coordinating producer.

Although an official announcement is still pending, Noah Eagle, who covers college football, college basketball, and some NFL games, is expected to join NBC’s NBA coverage. Jalen Rose, known for his role as a college basketball analyst on NBC/Peacock, also has experience as an NBA studio and game analyst from his time with ESPN/ABC.
