Blake Harper delivered an outstanding performance, scoring 34 points while shooting 12-of-16 from the field to guide Howard to an impressive 86-62 victory against Maryland-Eastern Shore on Monday.
In addition to his scoring, Harper recorded eight rebounds and five assists for the Bison, who improved to 11-15 overall and 6-3 in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. Marcus Dockery contributed significantly as well, finishing with 17 points thanks to hitting 6 of his 12 attempts, including two 3-pointers, and going a perfect 3-for-3 from the free-throw line.
The Hawks struggled despite Ketron Shaw’s efforts, who led his team with 21 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Evan Johnson supported Shaw by scoring 15 points. Unfortunately for Maryland-Eastern Shore, the loss marked their tenth consecutive defeat, deepening their struggles this season as they fell to 4-21 overall and 0-9 in the conference.
Both squads are scheduled to compete again on Saturday; Howard will face off against Morgan State, while Maryland-Eastern Shore is set to host North Carolina Central at their home court.
