EVANSVILLE, Indiana — In a compelling matchup on Sunday night, Connor Turnbull led the way with an impressive 27 points, guiding Evansville to a 79-69 victory over Valparaiso.

Turnbull’s performance included six rebounds and three blocks, contributing significantly to the Purple Aces’ success. Tayshawn Comer also made an impact, scoring 17 points and providing 11 assists, showcasing his all-around skill on the court. Gabriel Pozzato added to the team’s score by efficiently netting 12 points, hitting three of four attempts from the field and making five free throws without a miss.

On the side of Valparaiso, All Wright was a standout, contributing 17 points and securing two steals. Isaiah Shaw added another 14 points to the Beacons’ total, while Cooper Schwieger rounded out their efforts with 13 points, along with four assists and two blocks.

Turnbull started strong in the first half, scoring 10 points; however, at the halftime buzzer, Evansville found themselves trailing 44-40. The second half saw a dynamic shift, as Turnbull exploded for another 17 points, helping secure the 10-point win for Evansville.

This victory improves Evansville’s season record to 10 wins and 17 losses, with a conference standing of 7-9 in the Missouri Valley Conference, while Valparaiso now holds a record of 11-16 and 4-12 in the league.
