Thomas contributes 22 points in Austin Peay’s 76-63 victory over Stetson

    CLARKSVILLE, Tenn.
    — In a strong performance, LJ Thomas netted 22 points, leading Austin Peay to a 76-63 victory over Stetson on Saturday evening.

    Thomas achieved an impressive shooting game, going 7 of 14 from the floor and perfecting all six of his free throw attempts. The Governors improved their record to 12-15 overall and 7-7 in the Atlantic Sun Conference. Isaac Haney contributed significantly with 18 points, shooting 6 for 9 from the field, including 3 of 4 from beyond the arc, while also adding three assists and five rebounds. Additionally, Sai Witt recorded 15 points, making 5 of his 11 shots and going 5 for 7 from the charity stripe.

    For the visiting Hatters, Jamie Phillips Jr. was the standout scorer, finishing with 26 points. Jordan Wood supported with 12 points, while Mehki rounded out the scoring with nine points. Unfortunately for Stetson, this loss extended their current losing streak to six games, leaving them with a record of 7-20 and 5-9 in the conference.

    Looking ahead, both teams are set to compete again on Tuesday. Austin Peay will take on Bellarmine, while Stetson will be hosting North Florida.
