DURHAM, N.C. — North Carolina Central secured a solid 71-59 victory over Coppin State on Saturday evening, thanks in large part to the impressive performance of Po’Boigh King, who recorded 16 points.
King demonstrated his shooting prowess by hitting 5 of 9 attempts from the field, including a remarkable 4 of 7 from three-point territory. The Eagles, now standing at 11-14 overall and 4-4 in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, saw Aquan Smart contribute as well, scoring 13 points with a perfect shooting night of 5 for 5, which included 3 successful three-pointers. Additionally, Floyd Rideau made an impact off the bench, adding nine points and finishing 3 of 5 from beyond the arc.

On the other side, the struggling Eagles of Coppin State, who now hold a record of 4-19 and 2-6 in conference play, were led by Peter Oduro. Oduro achieved a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds, along with two blocks. Toby Nnadozie provided additional support with 13 points and four steals, while Khali Horton rounded out the scoring with 10 points.

Both teams are set to return to action on Monday, where North Carolina Central will host Morgan State, while Coppin State will travel for a matchup against South Carolina State.
