NATCHITOCHES, La. — In a thrilling matchup on Saturday night, Kyle Hayman shone for SFA, scoring 25 points to lead his team to a narrow victory over Northwestern State with a final score of 70-68.
Hayman also contributed defensively, recording three steals for the ‘Jacks, who now hold a record of 13-13 overall and 6-9 in the Southland Conference. Keon Thompson supported the effort with 14 points, shooting 54.5% from the field and adding seven rebounds. Chrishawn Christmas also made a significant contribution, finishing with 14 points on 71.4% shooting, including a 57.1% success rate from the free-throw line.
For the Demons, who are now 12-14 overall and 8-7 in conference play, Addison Patterson had an impressive double-double, racking up 23 points and 10 rebounds, along with two steals. Micah Thomas was another key player, chipping in 14 points. Love Bettis contributed as well, scoring eight points and dishing out four assists.
Both teams are set to return to action on Monday, with SFA scheduled to visit East Texas A&M while Northwestern State will host Lamar at home.
