Hayman’s 25 Points Lead SFA to Victory Over Northwestern State 70-68

    NATCHITOCHES, La. — Kyle Hayman played a key role in leading SFA to a narrow 70-68 victory against Northwestern State on Saturday night, scoring an impressive 25 points.

    Hayman’s performance included three steals for the Lumberjacks (13-13, 6-9 Southland Conference), showcasing his defensive skills alongside his scoring ability. Keon Thompson contributed significantly as well, netting 14 points and achieving a shooting percentage of 54.5% with six baskets out of 11 attempts, while also hauling in seven rebounds. Chrishawn Christmas added depth to the offense, finishing the night with 14 points after connecting on 5 of 7 shots from the field and hitting 4 of 7 free throws.

    On the losing side, the Demons (12-14, 8-7) were spearheaded by Addison Patterson, who delivered a double-double with 23 points and 10 rebounds, also recording two steals. Micah Thomas supported the team’s effort with 14 points, while Love Bettis contributed 8 points and facilitated the play with four assists.

    Looking ahead, both teams are scheduled to compete again on Monday, with SFA set to travel to face East Texas A&M, while Northwestern State will host Lamar at home.
