Rhode Island defeats La Salle with a score of 86-71

    KINGSTON, R.I. — In an impressive showing, Jaden House poured in 16 points as Rhode Island secured a significant 86-71 victory over La Salle on Saturday evening.

    House demonstrated strong shooting skills, making 5 of 9 attempts from the floor and finishing a perfect 6 for 6 from the charity stripe, contributing to the Rams’ record now standing at 17 wins and 8 losses, with a conference tally of 6-7 in the Atlantic 10. Javonte Brown also played a key role, scoring 13 points from 6 of 9 shooting, and he dominated the boards with 10 rebounds. David Fuchs added to the team’s efforts, scoring 11 points on an efficient 4 of 5 from the field while also grabbing nine rebounds, though he struggled slightly at the free-throw line, finishing 3 of 8.

    On the other side, La Salle’s Deuce Jones led the Explorers with a standout performance, notching a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds, along with four assists and six steals. Corey McKeithan contributed as well, scoring 13 points and dishing out five assists, while Demetrius Lilley matched that scoring with another 13 points for La Salle, whose record now stands at 12-14 with a conference performance of 4-10.

    Rhode Island took control of the game early, establishing a lead just 36 seconds into play, and they maintained that advantage throughout. By halftime, the Rams were up 38-34, with House contributing eight points to the score. In the second half, Rhode Island extended their lead to 46-34, sparked by an 8-0 run. David Green finished strong, leading the team in second-half scoring with nine points, helping secure the team’s victory.
