SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Trenton McLaughlin played a pivotal role in helping Northern Arizona secure a 65-61 victory over Sacramento State on Saturday night, contributing 20 points to the team’s effort.
In addition to his scoring, McLaughlin also recorded four steals for the Lumberjacks, who now hold a record of 15 wins and 12 losses, with 6 victories and 8 defeats within the Big Sky Conference. Carson Towt impressed with 14 points, shooting 6 of 9 from the field, although he struggled from the charity stripe, making 2 of his 8 attempts. He rounded out his performance with 10 rebounds, six assists, and four steals. Ryan Abelman also made notable contributions, scoring 10 points on a near-perfect shooting performance of 3 of 4 from the field, including 2 of 3 from beyond the arc, and successfully converting 2 of 3 from the free-throw line.
On the other side, the Hornets, now at 6-20 with a 2-11 conference record, were led by Jacob Holt, who notched a double-double with 17 points and 13 rebounds. EJ Neal offered significant support with 16 points, alongside six rebounds, six assists, and two steals. Lachlan Brewer also made an impact, finishing with 11 points, 10 rebounds, and two steals.
