BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Cal State Bakersfield Roadrunners secured a 91-54 victory over the Cal State Fullerton Titans on Saturday night, marking a significant turnaround for the team. Jemel Jones led the charge with an impressive 25 points along with seven rebounds, contributing significantly to his team’s success. Corey Stephenson was also a critical player in the win, scoring 23 points, making all of his field goal attempts and converting six free throws. He also had a commendable performance on the boards, collecting 11 rebounds. CJ Hardy contributed 11 points, shooting perfectly from the free-throw line. This victory ended a challenging six-game losing streak for the Roadrunners and renewed hope for the team.
On the other side, Kobe Young was the standout player for Cal State Fullerton, finishing with 16 points and 13 rebounds but unfortunately could not lead his team to victory. Donovan Oday added 13 points and gathered six rebounds as well, while Kendrick De Luna chipped in with nine points and made a pair of blocks. This defeat marked the Titans’ seventh consecutive loss, putting them in a difficult position in their season.
Looking ahead, both teams are scheduled to play again on Thursday. The Roadrunners will be on the road facing UC Davis, hoping to build on their recent success, while the Titans will visit UC Santa Barbara in search of a much-needed win.
