HAMPTON, Va. — In a notable performance, Wayne Bristol Jr. contributed 16 points in a key bench role, leading the Hampton Pirates to a 67-49 triumph against Hofstra on Saturday.
Bristol also secured eight rebounds and tallied three steals for Hampton, which now boasts a record of 14-13 overall and 6-8 in the Coastal Athletic Association.
Meanwhile, Noah Farrakhan managed to score 14 points, despite hitting only 4 of 14 shots from the field, including 1 for 5 beyond the arc. He did, however, find success at the free-throw line, converting 5 of 6 attempts.
George Beale chimed in with 11 points, making 3 of 9 from the floor and going 4 for 5 from the charity stripe, with one of his baskets coming from long range.
For Hofstra, Jaquan Sanders emerged as the top scorer with 12 points, also dishing out four assists and recording two steals.
The Pride’s offense saw additional contributions from Jean Aranguren, who finished with 10 points, and Michael Graham, who posted five points, ten rebounds, and two blocks.
The game shifted in Hampton’s favor around the 14:58 mark of the first half, a lead they maintained throughout. By halftime, the Pirates had a commanding 35-16 advantage, bolstered by Beale’s nine-point first-half effort.
In the second half, Hampton further widened the gap to 59-36, driven by an impressive 8-0 scoring run. Bristol topped the team in second-half scoring with eight points as the Pirates secured their victory.
