Giffa scores 16 as High Point defeats Winthrop 88-66.

    In a commanding performance, High Point defeated Winthrop 88-66 on Saturday, with Kezza Giffa leading the charge by contributing 16 points and five assists.
    The victory marked the Panthers’ eighth consecutive win, bringing their record to 23-5 overall and 11-2 in the Big South Conference.
    D’Maurian Williams supported the effort by netting 15 points, shooting efficiently with four field goals made out of nine attempts, and converting all five of his free-throw attempts.
    Terry Anderson also made a significant impact with 14 points, hitting six of ten from the field and making two out of four at the line.

    On the other side, Kasen Harrison was the standout for Winthrop, scoring 21 points in the loss.
    Kelton Talford contributed 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds, while Nick Johnson added nine points to the Eagles’ total.
    This defeat ended a five-game winning streak for Winthrop, leaving them with a record of 18-10 and 8-5 in conference play.

    Looking ahead, both teams are set to face off again on Wednesday, as High Point prepares to host Charleston Southern, while Winthrop will travel to take on Presbyterian.
