Harper contributes 14 points in Tennessee State’s 66-49 win against Eastern Illinois

    CHARLESTON, Ill. – Tennessee State showcased a solid performance on Thursday night, earning a 66-49 victory over Eastern Illinois with Travis Harper II leading the charge by scoring 14 points.

    Apart from his scoring, Harper also grabbed seven rebounds, proving to be a vital asset for the Tigers, who now hold a record of 13-13 overall and 9-6 in the Ohio Valley Conference. Aaron Nkrumah added to the team’s efforts by contributing 13 points along with six rebounds, while Josh Ogundele finished the game with an efficient 10 points, shooting 3 of 5 from the field and successfully converting 4 of 5 free-throw attempts.

    On the other hand, the Panthers struggled despite the commendable performance from Kooper Jacobi, who led his team in scoring with 12 points and recorded three steals. Eastern Illinois also saw contributions from Zion Fruster with 10 points and seven rebounds, alongside another 10-point performance from Obadiah Curtis.

    As for what’s next, both Tennessee State and Eastern Illinois are set to play again on Saturday. Tennessee State will travel to face SIU-Edwardsville, while Eastern Illinois will host UT Martin in their upcoming match.
