LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Chris Ashby delivered an impressive performance, scoring 30 points to lead Queens to a thrilling 92-87 victory over Bellarmine in an overtime showdown on Thursday night.
Ashby also contributed five rebounds to the Royals’ success, improving their record to 16 wins and 10 losses, with a conference standing of 9-4 in the Atlantic Sun Conference. Nasir Mann was another standout for Queens, scoring 19 points and demonstrating remarkable efficiency by hitting 6 of 7 shots from the field and 5 of 6 from the free-throw line. He also secured seven rebounds for the team. Leo Colimerio rounded out a strong performance with 11 points on 5 of 6 shooting, while also collecting seven rebounds and providing six assists.
On the opposing side, Kenyon Goodin led the Knights with 28 points and made three steals, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Royals. Bellarmine’s Billy Smith added 21 points along with four assists and six steals, while Tyler Doyle contributed 19 points, eight rebounds, and two blocked shots. Unfortunately for the Knights, this defeat marked their 16th consecutive loss of the season, dropping their overall record to 3-23 and leaving them winless in their conference at 0-13.
Looking ahead, both teams will face off again this weekend. Queens is scheduled to visit Eastern Kentucky, while Bellarmine will be hosting West Georgia.
