A recent incident at a government ministry facility in Kabul resulted in one fatality and three injuries, as reported on Thursday.
The spokesman for the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing, Mohammad Kamal Afghan, stated that an individual attempted to carry out an attack within the compound. However, the assailant was killed by security personnel before he could reach his intended target.

The spokesperson added that an explosion occurred during the confrontation, causing the injuries and death, yet he did not specify the origin of the blast or provide further details regarding the situation.

As of now, there has been no claim of responsibility for the attempted attack on the ministry.

This event follows a separate violent incident earlier in the week, where a bombing close to a bank in the northern province of Kunduz left at least five people dead and resulted in over seven others injured.
The Islamic State group later asserted responsibility for that attack, although they reported a higher number of casualties than what local sources confirmed.
