WICHITA, Kan. — In an exciting matchup on Wednesday night, Wichita State triumphed over UTSA with a final score of 69-64, propelled by a standout performance from Corey Washington, who recorded 17 points alongside 12 rebounds for the Shockers.
In addition to Washington’s contributions, Harlond Beverly contributed significantly with 15 points, connecting on five of ten attempts from the floor and perfecting all four free throws, while also grabbing six rebounds. Xavier Bell also played a key role for Wichita State, adding 12 points. Despite a challenging shooting night, he managed to convert three of his thirteen field goal attempts and was flawless from the free-throw line, hitting all four shots.
On the opposing side, the Roadrunners were led by Raekwon Horton, who put together an impressive line of 16 points, ten rebounds, and two steals. Marcus Millender added valuable support with 13 points and two steals, while Primo Spears contributed 12 points along with three steals for UTSA.
