ST. LOUIS — In an exciting game on Tuesday night, Woody Newton led the George Mason Patriots to a thrilling 76-74 overtime victory against the Saint Louis Billikens, marking their 10th consecutive win.
Newton showcased an impressive performance, scoring a total of 27 points with a shooting accuracy of 9 out of 16, which included an outstanding 8 for 12 from three-point range. His teammates contributed significantly as well, with Darius Maddox adding 14 points to the scoreboard while grabbing six rebounds, shooting 5 of 14 overall and hitting 3 of 6 from beyond the arc. K.D. Johnson supported the offense with 11 points, going 4 for 8, including 2 for 3 from long distance.
On the other hand, the Billikens were led by Robbie Avila, who put up 27 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Isaiah Swope also made a notable contribution with 22 points in the contest.
Looking ahead, George Mason will be back in action on Saturday as they host Saint Joseph’s (Pa.), while Saint Louis gears up to face Loyola Chicago on Friday.
