Northern Iowa secures 88-73 victory over Indiana State

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — Tytan Anderson played a pivotal role in leading Northern Iowa to a 88-73 victory over Indiana State on Tuesday evening, contributing 22 points to the team’s total.

Anderson also secured five rebounds, helping the Panthers boost their record to 17-9 and 11-4 in the Missouri Valley Conference. Trey Campbell was another standout, scoring 18 points on 6-for-12 shooting, which included 4-for-7 from three-point range, while also grabbing six boards. Jacob Hutson added 13 points by hitting 5 of his 9 attempts from the field and converting 3 of 6 at the free-throw line.

On the other side, the Sycamores (12-14, 6-9) were led by Samage Teel, who tallied 21 points alongside six assists. Indiana State also received contributions from Aaron Gray and Jaden Daughtry, both of whom chipped in with 10 points each.

Northern Iowa maintained a strong position with a halftime lead of 50-38, having seen Anderson contribute 15 points in the first half. They continued to extend their advantage, leading 81-59 later in the game thanks to a dominant 14-1 scoring streak. In the second half, Campbell topped the Panthers with 11 points, ensuring their commanding performance.

Looking ahead, Northern Iowa will face Murray State on Sunday away from home, while Indiana State is set to welcome Illinois State on Saturday.
