HENDERSON, Nev. — New head coach Pete Carroll of the Raiders has made commitments to uphold elements of last year’s coaching staff. He has decided to keep two of the three coordinators who were part of the team under former coach Antonio Pierce. Patrick Graham remains in charge of the defensive unit, while Tom McMahon continues as the special teams coordinator. Additionally, the offense will be led by Chip Kelly, who served as offensive coordinator for Ohio State’s championship-winning team last season.

Carroll has also brought in his two sons to join the coaching staff. Brennan, who was the offensive coordinator at the University of Washington last season, will take on the roles of run game coordinator and offensive line coach. His brother Nate, who served as the pass game coordinator for the Carolina Panthers, has been appointed as the assistant quarterbacks coach.

Several coaches are returning to the Raiders for additional tenures. Notably, Greg Olson is back as the quarterbacks coach; he previously held the role of offensive coordinator for the team during two separate periods: from 2013 to 2014 and again from 2018 to 2021. Additionally, Joe Philbin, who used to coach the Miami Dolphins, continues as a senior offensive assistant for the second consecutive year and took on the interim role of offensive line coach last season.
