COLOMBO, Sri Lanka — Following the unfortunate demise of two foreign tourists earlier this month, authorities proceeded with autopsies on Monday to investigate the cause of their deaths.
The women, both enjoying their vacation in Sri Lanka, fell ill with severe vomiting at their hostel and were subsequently admitted to a hospital on February 1. Officials have identified the victims as Ebony McIntosh, 24, from the United Kingdom, and Nadine Raguse, 26, from Germany. In addition to the two deceased, a 30-year-old German male is currently receiving medical attention at the hospital.
At this time, police have not disclosed any details regarding the cause of the tourists’ deaths. However, they have indicated that the results from the autopsies will be made available following the completion of laboratory tests.
