EUGENE, Ore. — Londynn Jones delivered an impressive performance, netting a season-high of 21 points as the top-ranked UCLA Bruins secured a 62-52 victory over the Oregon Ducks on Sunday.

Lauren Betts contributed notably with nine points, alongside six rebounds and four assists for UCLA (23-0, 11-0 Big Ten), marking their 22nd consecutive win by a margin of ten points or more. In a familiar twist, former Oregon player Angela Dugalic chipped in with seven points and eight rebounds for the Bruins.

On the Oregon side, Nani Falatea led her team with 19 points, but the Ducks (16-8, 7-6) faced their third consecutive loss. Deja Kelly added 14 points and grabbed five rebounds, yet the Ducks struggled with their shooting, managing only 26.6% from the field.

With Oregon narrowing the gap to 45-38 at the beginning of the fourth quarter, UCLA responded decisively. They executed three back-to-back 3-pointers, with Elina Aarnisalo, Timea Gardiner, and Jones each contributing from the arc, effectively expanding their lead to 54-38 with just over six minutes remaining in the game.

Key Observations:

The Bruins continue to stand as the only undefeated team nationwide, maintaining a record-setting start to their season. As they gear up for a clash against seventh-ranked USC on Thursday, UCLA remains focused on prolonging their winning streak.

For Oregon, the situation has grown dire with three losses in a row affecting their NCAA Tournament prospects. On a positive note, they will not encounter any more ranked opponents during the regular season. However, they have suffered a setback with the indefinite absence of starting point guard Peyton Scott due to injury.

Significant Moment:

Oregon opened the second half with a quick four points, but Jones quickly responded, scoring five points on UCLA’s subsequent possession. Although she missed her free throw after a basket-and-foul play, Dugalic’s rebound set up Jones for a successful 3-pointer, pushing the Bruins ahead to 30-23.

Noteworthy Statistic:

Both teams attempted 17 three-point shots, but UCLA excelled by converting seven, while Oregon managed to sink only two.

Looking ahead, UCLA will face off against No. 7 USC on Thursday, while Oregon is set to host Washington on Wednesday.
