RIVERSIDE, Calif. — Tylen Riley delivered an impressive performance, scoring 25 points to lead Cal Baptist to an 85-71 victory over Grand Canyon on Saturday night.
Riley showcased his shooting skills, going 5 of 9 overall, hitting 2 of 4 from beyond the arc, and making an outstanding 13 of 16 from the free-throw line. His contributions were pivotal for the Lancers, who now hold a record of 12 wins and 11 losses, with 5 wins against 4 losses in the Western Athletic Conference. Kendal Coleman also played a significant role in the game, tallying 19 points with an efficient shooting display, making 7 of 14 attempts and a perfect 5 for 5 from the charity stripe, while also contributing five rebounds. Additionally, AJ Braun scored 13 points, shooting 5 of 9 from the field and converting 2 of 3 from the free-throw line.
On the other side, the Antelopes, who fell to 17-6 overall and 7-2 in conference play, were led by Tyon Grant-Foster. He recorded 15 points, six rebounds, and two steals in an effort to keep his team competitive. JaKobe Coles added 11 points along with two steals, and Lok Wur chipped in with 10 points. The defeat snapped Grand Canyon’s impressive six-game winning streak.
Looking ahead, both teams will be back in action on Thursday. Cal Baptist will travel to face UT Arlington, while Grand Canyon heads on the road to take on Tarleton State.
