The New York Yankees have officially re-signed left-handed relief pitcher Tim Hill, securing a one-year contract valued at $2.85 million.
This agreement entails a base salary for Hill of $2.5 million for the current season, along with a potential $3 million team option for 2026, which comes with a $350,000 buyout clause.
As he approaches his 35th birthday, Hill’s journey in the previous season included a $1.8 million contract with the Chicago White Sox. However, after a challenging start, which saw him record a 5.87 ERA across 23 innings in 27 games, he was released on June 18. The very day after his release, he was picked up by the Yankees, where he enjoyed a successful stint. During his time with New York, he posted impressive statistics, notably finishing with a 1-0 record and a 2.05 ERA over 35 appearances. Furthermore, he excelled in the postseason, allowing only a 1.08 ERA in 10 games.
Tim Hill made his entry into Major League Baseball with the Kansas City Royals in 2018, after being selected in the 32nd round of the 2014 amateur draft. Throughout his career, he has amassed a record of 20 wins and 14 losses, coupled with a 3.99 ERA over 382 games, also spending time playing for the San Diego Padres.
