MOREHEAD, Ky. — In a decisive matchup on Saturday, Little Rock triumphed over Morehead State with a final score of 76-62, thanks in large part to a standout performance by Johnathan Lawson, who scored 24 points.
Lawson’s contributions were not limited to scoring; he also recorded three steals, helping the Trojans secure their position with a record of 16 wins and 9 losses overall, along with 10 victories in the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) against 4 defeats. Jordan Jefferson had an impressive game as well, finishing with 14 points while making 5 of his 8 field goal attempts and hitting 3 out of 4 free throws, in addition to contributing four steals on the defensive end. Isaiah Lewis chipped in with 13 points, shooting 4 for 10 from the field, including 2 for 3 from beyond the arc, and going 3 for 4 from the free-throw line.
On the other side of the court, Kenny White Jr. was the leading scorer for the Eagles, putting up 16 points. Morehead State, which now holds a record of 14 wins and 11 losses, along with 9 wins to 5 losses in the conference, saw Tyler Brelsford add another 11 points to the score. Jerone Morton contributed to the team’s efforts with 10 points, while also distributing five assists and securing two steals.
