WORCESTER, Mass. — In a strong performance on Saturday, Max Green led Holy Cross to a decisive 72-52 victory over Boston University, contributing 18 points to the team’s effort.
Green also facilitated the game with five assists, helping the Crusaders improve their record to 12-13 overall and 4-8 in the Patriot League.
Teammate DeAndre Williams was another standout, scoring 16 points while connecting on 6 of 10 field goal attempts and hitting all four of his free throws, alongside grabbing five rebounds.
Caleb Kenney followed closely, putting up 12 points by hitting 4 of 10 shots from the floor and converting 4 of 6 from the charity stripe.
On the other side, the Terriers, who now hold a record of 12-13 and 6-6 in conference play, saw their scoring front led by Azmar Abdullah, who scored 14 points. Michael McNair also made his mark by contributing 13 points for Boston University, while Malcolm Chimezie added six points to the total.
Holy Cross established a lead early in the game, taking charge with 14:04 left in the first half and maintaining that advantage throughout the contest. At halftime, the score stood at 35-27, with Green contributing 10 points in the first half alone.
In the second half, Holy Cross widened their lead to 66-46, aided by an impressive 15-2 scoring streak. Williams then stepped up and scored a team-leading 10 points during this half, securing the win for the Crusaders as they closed out the game successfully.
