INGLEWOOD, Calif. — The Los Angeles Clippers have made a notable trade, acquiring guard Bogdan Bogdanovic along with three second-round draft picks from the Atlanta Hawks. In return, the Clippers sent Terance Mann and Bones Hyland to Atlanta, marking a significant shift in their lineup.
The announcement of the deal came late Thursday night, shortly after the Clippers suffered a disappointing defeat against the Indiana Pacers, having squandered a 22-point advantage.
Bogdanovic, who is 32 years old, has averaged 10 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2 assists in 24 games for the Hawks this season, playing roughly 24.9 minutes per game. Over his eight-season career, which includes time with Sacramento and Atlanta, he has maintained averages of 14.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 3.2 assists. Notably, he was part of the Serbian national team that earned a bronze medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics, in addition to a silver medal in the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Games.
“Bogdan is a smart, competitive guard who brings shooting, passing, and a high basketball IQ,” said Lawrence Frank, the president of basketball operations for the Clippers. He added that Bogdanovic has demonstrated his capability as a valuable asset both in the NBA and on the international stage, being a talented connector and a clutch player.
On the other hand, Terance Mann has played in 37 games this season for the Clippers, averaging 6 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.6 assists over 19.8 minutes per game. Standing at 6 feet 5 inches, Mann was selected by the Clippers as the 48th overall pick in the 2019 draft and has since participated in 382 games across six seasons in the NBA.
Frank expressed his appreciation for Mann, stating, “We drafted him in 2019, and he became everything we hoped for: a selfless, dependable pro who excels on both ends of the court and does whatever it takes to win.” He reminisced about Mann’s significant contribution to the team, especially the memorable 39-point game that secured their first conference finals appearance.
Additionally, Bones Hyland has appeared in 20 games this season, averaging 7.2 points, 1.4 assists, and 1.2 rebounds over 11.1 minutes. The 6-foot-2 guard has participated in 182 games throughout his four-year NBA career, which includes time with both Denver and the Clippers.
