CORVALLIS, Ore. — In an exciting matchup on Thursday, Michael Rataj contributed significantly to Oregon State’s success, scoring 21 points in their 82-74 triumph over Washington State.
The Beavers, now sitting at 17 wins and 7 losses with a 7-4 record in the West Coast Conference, also saw Parsa Fallah perform exceptionally well, adding 17 points to the scoreboard. Fallah shot impressively with 6 baskets out of 10 attempts and made 5 of his 7 free throws, while also grabbing six rebounds. Nate Kingz helped solidify the team’s performance by adding 15 points, going 3 for 6 from the field and nailing all 7 of his free-throw attempts, including 2 out of 4 from beyond the arc.
For the Cougars, who have a record of 15-10 and 5-7 in conference play, Nate Calmese was the standout player, racking up 25 points. Ethan Price provided additional support with 13 points along with two blocks, and Isaiah Watts also chipped in with 11 points and two steals.
During the initial half, Fallah managed to score eight points, but Oregon State entered the locker room down by one, trailing 37-36. In a strong second-half performance, Rataj scored 16 points, which played a crucial role in securing an eight-point victory for the Beavers.
Coming up, both teams are set to hit the court again on Saturday. Oregon State will be hosting Saint Mary’s, while Washington State is scheduled to face Pepperdine at home.
