SAN DIEGO — UC San Diego’s Aniwaniwa Tait-Jones showcased an outstanding performance, scoring 28 points in the Tritons’ 91-71 win over UC Riverside on Thursday evening.

Tait-Jones also contributed seven rebounds to the team’s efforts, helping the Tritons improve their season record to 19 wins and 4 losses, with a 9-2 mark in the Big West Conference. Tyler McGhie supported the team with 19 points, shooting 8 of 18 from the floor and making 3 of 8 attempts from three-point territory. Hayden Gray also had a solid game, recording 13 points while hitting 6 of 10 shots from the field, including 1 for 4 from beyond the arc.

Leading the scoring for the Highlanders was Isaiah Moses, who netted 25 points in the contest. Barrington Hargress contributed an additional 16 points for UC Riverside, while Nate Pickens rounded out the scoring with eight points and four assists. Unfortunately for the Highlanders, this defeat interrupted their five-game winning streak.

Both teams are set to return to the court on Saturday. UC San Diego will travel to face UC Irvine, while UC Riverside will host Cal State Bakersfield at their home venue.
