Chenery nets 18 points in Binghamton’s 66-54 victory over UMass-Lowell

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. — In an exciting matchup on Thursday evening, Tymu Chenery played a crucial role in leading the Binghamton Bearcats to a 66-54 victory over the UMass-Lowell River Hawks.

Chenery showcased his skills by scoring 18 points, along with seven rebounds and three blocks for Binghamton, who now holds a record of 12-12 and stands at 4-5 in the America East Conference.
Nehemiah Benson contributed significantly to the win with 16 points, hitting 8 of 14 from the field, and he added five rebounds to his impressive performance. Wes Peterson also made an impact by scoring 14 points, shooting 5 for 9 overall, including 2 for 5 from beyond the arc, and converting 2 of 3 free-throw attempts.

On the other side of the court, UMass-Lowell was led by Yuri Covington, who put up a strong fight by scoring 21 points. The River Hawks, now with a record of 15-9 and also 4-5 in the conference, saw further contributions from Martin Somerville, who tallied 15 points along with four steals. Quinton Mincey also made his presence felt, recording a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
