BOSTON — The Dallas Mavericks will not have center Anthony Davis available for their game against the Boston Celtics on Thursday night, as confirmed by head coach Jason Kidd. This postpones Davis’s anticipated debut with the team until at least Saturday.
Davis was obtained in a significant trade that sent Luka Doncic, a five-time member of the All-NBA First Team, to a different team. The deal, which occurred on Sunday, was not only the most significant transaction leading up to Thursday’s trade deadline but is also regarded as one of the most notable trades in NBA history.
The center has not played since January 28 due to an abdominal strain. Kidd expressed his hope of seeing Davis back in action for the Mavericks’ matchup against the Houston Rockets in Dallas on Saturday.
