In a competitive matchup on Wednesday night, Creighton secured a win against Providence with a final score of 80-69, largely thanks to the outstanding performance of Ryan Kalkbrenner.
Kalkbrenner delivered a remarkable game, scoring 35 points while also contributing 12 rebounds and three steals, helping the Bluejays improve their record to 17-6 overall and 10-2 within the Big East Conference.
Additionally, Steven Ashworth played a significant role in the team’s triumph, netting 23 points with an impressive shooting line of 7 for 15, including 3 for 9 from beyond the arc.
He also showcased his versatility with six rebounds and six assists. Neal Jamiya contributed to the effort as well, scoring nine points on an efficient 3-for-8 shooting while also adding five rebounds and six assists to the mix.
This victory marked Creighton’s eighth consecutive win, solidifying their strong performance in recent games.
On the opposing side, Providence’s Corey Floyd Jr. led the Friars with a double-double, finishing with 16 points and 10 rebounds.
Jayden Pierre supported the team with 14 points and five assists, while Rich Barron chipped in with 11 points and six rebounds.
A standout moment for Kalkbrenner came in the second half, where he scored 20 points, which was crucial in establishing the Bluejays’ decisive 11-point lead.
