Bello scores 22 as Purdue Fort Wayne defeats Wright State 87-64

FORT WAYNE, Ind. — In a commanding performance on Wednesday night, Rasheed Bello netted 22 points to lead Purdue Fort Wayne to a decisive 87-64 victory over Wright State.

Bello demonstrated his skill by making 8 of 17 attempts from the floor, which included a pair of three-pointers out of five attempts, and he was perfect from the free-throw line, sinking all four attempts. Alongside Bello, Jalen Jackson contributed significantly, scoring 20 points and grabbing five rebounds for the Mastodons, who improved to 17 wins and 8 losses overall while holding a 10-4 record in the Horizon League.

Corey Hadnot II added depth to the team’s offense, finishing the game with 11 points, courtesy of a shooting performance of 3 for 9 from the field, although he struggled from beyond the arc, going 0 for 5. In addition to his scoring, Hadnot II made his presence felt on the glass, pulling down eight rebounds and making four steals.

On the other side, the Raiders (12-13, 6-8) saw standout performances from Brandon Noel, who recorded a double-double with 25 points and 10 rebounds. Jack Doumbia also made contributions by adding 15 points, eight rebounds, and two blocked shots to the Raiders’ efforts.

Next, both teams will be back in action on Saturday, with Purdue Fort Wayne set to host Green Bay, while Wright State will be facing IU Indianapolis at home.
