Georgia State secures 97-64 win over UL Monroe

ATLANTA — In a commanding performance, Toneari Lane netted 22 points, leading Georgia State to a decisive 97-64 victory over UL Monroe on Wednesday evening.

Lane had an impressive shooting night, hitting 8 of 13 shots, including a stellar 6 of 11 from three-point range, contributing significantly to the Panthers’ success as they improved their record to 9-15 overall and 5-7 in the Sun Belt Conference.

Supporting Lane’s efforts, Malachi Brown added 19 points and dished out five assists, while Zarigue Nutter also made a notable contribution with 18 points, shooting 7 of 11 from the field and 4 of 6 from the free-throw line.

For UL Monroe, Coltie Young led the scoring with 19 points. Jalen Bolden had a solid game as well, chipping in with 17 points, seven rebounds, six assists, and two steals. Additionally, Makai Willis contributed 12 points to the Warhawks’ total, but their efforts fell short against the Panthers.

Looking ahead, Georgia State will face Buffalo on the road in their next matchup on Saturday, while UL Monroe is set to host Texas State on Thursday.
