CHARLESTON, S.C. — In a competitive matchup on Wednesday evening, UNC Greensboro triumphed over Citadel with a score of 76-61, highlighting a strong performance from Ronald Polite, who led the Spartans with 22 points.
Polite not only contributed significantly on offense, but he also tallied seven rebounds, helping his team move to a record of 15 wins and 9 losses, including an 8-3 mark in the Southern Conference. His teammates also made notable contributions; Donovan Atwell scored 17 points despite a challenging shooting night, finishing 4 of 15 overall, which included 4 of 13 from beyond the arc and a perfect 5 for 5 from the free-throw line. Joryam Saizonou added 13 points with an efficient shooting performance, going 6 of 8 from the field.
On the other side, the Bulldogs from Citadel, struggling this season, saw Brody Fox lead his team with 20 points in their latest defeat. Christian Moore provided support with 15 points and six rebounds, while Cameron Glover chipped in with nine points. Unfortunately for Citadel, this defeat marked their 14th consecutive loss, a challenging stretch for the team.
