New acquisitions lift Milan to a 3-1 victory over Roma, advancing to Italian Cup semifinals.

MILAN — The recent additions to AC Milan proved to be pivotal on Wednesday as they propelled the team into the semifinals of the Italian Cup.
Milan triumphed over Roma with a score of 3-1, showcasing the talents of debutants João Félix and Santiago Giménez, who contributed significantly to the team’s third goal.
The Rossoneri are set to encounter either local rivals Inter Milan or Lazio in the two-legged semifinals scheduled for April.
Inter will be competing against Lazio in their quarterfinal match on February 25.

On the transfer window’s final day, Milan had a flurry of activity by acquiring Félix, Giménez, Riccardo Sottil, and Warren Bondo on Monday, adding to their earlier signing of Kyle Walker the previous month.
Walker, who participated in his first match during Sunday’s Milan derby, was the only new player to start in this game.

In a strong first-half performance, former Roma striker Tammy Abraham found the back of the net twice—both goals set up by precise passes from Theo Hernández.
However, the visitors managed to respond in the second half when substitute Artem Dovbyk scored in the 54th minute to reduce the deficit.

Milan’s head coach Sérgio Conceição made tactical adjustments shortly afterward, bringing on Félix and Giménez in place of Abraham and Christian Pulisic.
It didn’t take long for them to make an impact; within 15 minutes, Giménez skillfully played a ball through to Félix, who executed a chip over the Roma goalkeeper for the final goal of the match.
Félix joined the team on loan from Chelsea, while Milan reportedly paid Feyenoord 30 million euros ($31 million) plus bonuses for Giménez, who may face his former club in the upcoming Champions League clash.

In other news, Bologna secured a spot in the semifinals by defeating Atalanta, marking their first appearance in this stage of the competition in 26 years.
They will be contending against either reigning champions Juventus or Empoli, who are set to clash in their quarterfinal on February 26.
