PINE BLUFF, Ark. — In an exciting matchup on Tuesday night, Doctor Bradley led the way with 13 points as the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) pulled off a surprise victory over Texas Southern, winning 69-68. This win marked UAPB’s first triumph in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) this season.
As the game drew to a close, Texas Southern had two opportunities to change the outcome but were unable to convert their shots in the final moments. It was Bradley’s pivotal layup with just under two minutes to play that propelled the Golden Lions (4-18, 1-8) into a narrow 67-66 lead, a margin they maintained until the final buzzer.
In addition to his scoring, Bradley also dominated the boards, ending the night with an impressive 16 rebounds and seven assists. His teammates contributed significant performances as well; Christian Moore scored 13 points, hitting 5 of 10 field-goal attempts while also securing five rebounds and providing six assists. Meanwhile, Kyle Brown added 11 points, converting all four of his field-goal attempts effectively.
Kavion McClain was the standout player for Texas Southern (10-12, 7-2), leading his team with 19 points. Kenny Hunter made a notable impact with a double-double, tallying 15 points, 15 rebounds, and two steals. Zaire Hayes joined in the scoring effort with 11 points and six rebounds. With this loss, Texas Southern’s seven-game winning streak came to an abrupt end.
Looking ahead, both teams have their next games scheduled for Saturday. UAPB will head to Alcorn State, while Texas Southern will face off against Florida A&M at home.
