Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken agrees to contract renewal

OWINGS MILLS, Md. — On Monday, the Baltimore Ravens confirmed that Todd Monken will continue as the team’s offensive coordinator after signing a contract extension.

While the specific duration of Monken’s new agreement was not disclosed, his return appeared more certain as various head coaching vacancies within the league were filled.

Additionally, the Ravens announced the hiring of Tyler Santucci for the position of linebackers coach.

Under Monken’s leadership over the past two seasons, Baltimore’s offense has thrived. Quarterback Lamar Jackson, who earned MVP accolades last season, stands a good chance of receiving the award again this week. The Ravens achieved an impressive average of 6.85 yards per play in 2024, marking it as the third highest in NFL history, and also established a record with 5.76 yards gained per rush.

Head Coach John Harbaugh expressed enthusiasm for Monken’s return, noting the potential evolution of their offensive system. “It would mean a lot if and when we get him back,” Harbaugh stated several weeks ago. He elaborated on the team’s offensive development, expressing eagerness for what he termed “3.0” iteration of the offense moving forward, highlighting how last offseason and the current season have helped them refine their organization and strategy.

He emphasized the versatility of their offensive scheme, stating, “We’re kind of in every world offensively, and it’s not easy to do that, but we can do that because of our quarterback, because our quarterback is capable of living in all of those different offensive worlds, and that’s tough for a defense to defend.”
