NASHVILLE — Starr Jacobs delivered an impressive performance, making 12 of 13 shots from the field and scoring a season-high 24 points, while also securing 10 rebounds, leading Ole Miss to a 76-61 victory over the No. 23 Vanderbilt women’s basketball team on Sunday.

The Rebels, now boasting a record of 15-6 with a 6-3 standing in the Southeastern Conference, previously defeated the Commodores by a significant margin, 87-59, on January 9 in Oxford, marking their fourth consecutive win against Vanderbilt.

Jacobs initiated the scoring for the game and her layup with only 39 seconds remaining in the first quarter allowed Ole Miss to take the lead at 12-11, a lead they would maintain throughout the match. The Rebels showcased their strength in the second quarter, outscoring Vanderbilt 20-10, which resulted in a commanding 32-21 advantage by halftime.

In the game, Ole Miss exhibited outstanding shooting accuracy, hitting 54.2% of their shots (32 out of 59). Additionally, Madison Scott contributed significantly to the victory by scoring 16 points on 7 of 11 shooting, while also grabbing six rebounds, dishing out three assists, blocking two shots, and making a steal.

For Vanderbilt, whose record now stands at 18-5 with a 5-4 conference mark, this game marked the end of their four-game winning streak. The Commodores managed to convert 23 of 49 attempts from the field but faced challenges on the boards, getting out-rebounded 32-23. Khamil Pierre was a standout for Vanderbilt, scoring 24 points with an efficient 11 of 18 from the floor, including three steals. Freshman Mikayla Blakes added 16 points, while Iyana Moore contributed 10 points to the effort.

Looking ahead, Ole Miss is set to host No. 13 Oklahoma on Thursday, while Vanderbilt will take on No. 5 Texas in their next matchup.
