LAWRENCE, Kan. — In a decisive victory, Jaelyn Glenn recorded 19 points while Taryn Sides contributed 14 points, leading the No. 11 Kansas State Wildcats to a commanding 91-64 win over their in-state rival, Kansas, on Sunday.

Glenn showcased her sharpshooting by hitting 5 of 8 attempts from beyond the arc, while Sides, coming off the bench, sank 4 of her 9 three-point attempts. Additionally, Zyanna Walker added 13 points and Temira Poindexter chipped in 12 more for the Wildcats, who improved their overall record to 21-2 and 9-1 in the Big 12. Sides also excelled in playmaking, racking up eight of the team’s 26 assists on 34 successful field goals. Kansas State demonstrated impressive shooting accuracy, finishing the game with a remarkable 59% shooting rate and converting 15 of 23 attempts from three-point territory.

The Wildcats took control of the game with a spectacular 30-point outburst in the third quarter, propelled by Sides’ 3-for-4 shooting from beyond the arc and Glenn’s 2-for-3 performance from three-point range. K-State maintained their high shooting percentage in the third quarter, leading 67-38 going into the final period.

For Kansas, Sania Copeland was a standout scorer, netting all 17 of her points in the fourth quarter, helping the Jayhawks achieve a slight 26-24 advantage during that period. Elle Evans and Laia Conesa also contributed significantly for Kansas, scoring 13 and 12 points, respectively, as the team’s record stood at 14-8 with a 4-7 mark in the conference.

The game started with K-State holding a 20-17 lead by the end of the first quarter. In the second quarter, Glenn and Walker ignited a 10-0 run, scoring five points each to put the Wildcats ahead. The teams exchanged baskets for the majority of the quarter, with Kansas State leading 37-25 at the halftime break.

Looking ahead, Kansas State is set to host a pivotal matchup against the No. 9 TCU on Wednesday, while Kansas will travel to face No. 21 West Virginia on the same day.
